For those who don’t know yet, Christmas is my favourite holiday, and I believe is the favourite holiday for most of you, as well.
Every year, I usually start my winter holidays arrangements sometimes in November because I hate the crowds; the Christmas atmosphere around in every store, grocery, mall or at TV, the various customs and traditions, the Christmas carols and just the fact that I’ll spend the holiday with my family and my friends stimulate me more with my planning.
This year I was very lazy in my Christmas preparations, maybe because I worked too hard in the last few months, so every day I came home tired and I preferred to spend the last hours of the day just watching TV, cooking dinners with my husband and so on.
I usually make my Christmas tree and all my decorations in the house and in the balcony on the first week of December. One day, when I came home, it was around December 10th and I looked around on the streets and thru the windows: everybody had already beautiful Christmas trees, lights and decorations around the buildings, and the ambiance was so amazing! I was feeling like a child who didn’t make his homework, and the Christmas fairy admonished him:” Shame on you! How come you forgot about your favourite holiday?” ![]()
So I went home and I started to plan everything for these holidays; in the same time, I planned the Christmas party at my work, and everybody was so happy with my choices (I’ll write about this into another post). I’m still behind a little bit with everything I was planning to do (well, I have an excuse, I was sick during the weekend), but what’s more important it’s already done: the Christmas tree (this year I choose as a motif for the decorations gold and green, but I will add a little bit of traditional red), the cabbage rolls (our traditional Romanian dish), shopping of some beautiful presents and some other details.
I’m not sure if I’ll still post something until Christmas (I suppose it’s a busy week for all of us), but I’m sure that it’s not too early to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and may this holiday be blessed with peace and great joy!
